The El Paso County Sheriff’s Office Foundation is a 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization that was formed in April of 2017 by local community leaders to support specific projects of the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office. The role of the Foundation is not to displace funding for basic law enforcement, or to reduce the responsibility of El Paso County to commit the necessary funding for law enforcement services for its citizens, but rather to provide the resources to fill the gap where budget stop and new opportunities begin.
The Board of Directors is made up of community leaders who dedicate time and resources so all of the monies raised go back out to support specialized equipment, training, programs, and resources. Their goal is to help area law enforcement professionals create the safest community possible. Grant decisions are made at the Board level.
